Valentine’s Day Party

We had a wonderful Valentine’s Day in class. We got to celebrate a little early when Brison brought valentines for his friends on Monday since he does not come to school on Tuesday. He was SO excited to pass them out.

Then on Tuesday we got to have our party! We started the day with works and then the students got to decorate bags to hold their valentines.

I loved seeing Moyra in her beautiful Valentine’s Day ensemble.

Will enjoyed coloring, while Miss Melodi helped Luke with stickers.

Emi wanted to show me his finished product.

After we decorated bags, it was time for our party food. Thanks to all of the parents for helping and bringing the food for our party.

TeKai Spencer was thoroughly enjoying her cracker.

It looks like Alvin had a bite of something sour.

When the snacks everyone was full, we got to have the most fun part of Valentine’s Day: passing out the valentines. The darling students loved passing out their Valentine’s to their friends.

Then I got to hand out my valentines!

We had such a wonderful party! Happy Valentine’s Day!

We also had a few late vlaentines to hand out since we had a few students that were not in class on Tuesday.

Luke

Luke is another new student that we have in our class. He had a fabulous first day of school and made so many new friends. We cannot wait to get to know him better.

Watching the fish was definitely his favorite thing to do.

Luke also had so much fun playing outside with his new friends.

Romy’s First Day of School

Romy is a new student in our class and we think that she is wonderful. She had a great first day and we cannot wait to get to know her more.

About Me

I graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Global Studies. After graduation I received a job teaching English to students of varying ages (8-60 yr. olds) in South Korea. I was able to teach classes and one-on-one sessions over the internet. I grew so much from this experience in knowing how to effectively teach. After a few months I began teaching at The Montessori Learning Center. Miss Ali trained me in Montessori and as I learned more and more, I realized how important this educational style is to children. I love that we are able to let children develop at their own speed. We are able to provide an environment for them to do this most effectively with the least amount of interference from adults. Not only does Montessori allow them to develop intellectually, but Miss Ali has created an environment where children develop socially as well. The goal is to establish intellectual and honorable individuals. These wonderful children know school subjects along with social etiquette, honesty, and hard work. This is why I love this school, because it is not enough to only care about the intellectual development of a child. I love my job so much and what I am learning at this school will undoubtedly aid me in raising intellectual and honorable children of my own in the future.
